I'm an undergraduate at MIT, intending to study mathematics and physics. Most of my attention these days goes to AI safety. Here's why.

At MIT I work with Max Tegmark's group on formal verification for mathematical reasoning. I spent spring break of my freshman year at Redwood Research. I also help organize MIT AI Alignment.

Before MIT I spent most of high school doing physics olympiads out of Bucharest. I represented Romania at eight international olympiads. Notably, I placed 8th overall at the International Physics Olympiad in 2025, picking up the prizes for Best Experimental Performance and Best European Participant. Earlier, I received a Special Prize at ISEF 2024 for my work on magnetostrictive actuation in oil recovery.

Outside the work, I also love running, beekeeping, and (slowly) learning Chinese.
